The Nation regrets losing a truly empowered woman today. J.Jayalalitha, better known as ‘Amma’ to masses; a people’s leader, extremely talented, possessing a multifaceted career was one of the most successful women of her times.
She began her career at the tender age of 13, in films as an actor.
A master in at least two forms of classical dances, she proved to break stereotypes by becoming the most powerful politician in South as a messiah for the weak. Having all the weapons a good politician would need, her communication skills in English Hindi & Tamil, proved to be assets; ended in good relations with the ‘different thinking’ league. P.V. Narasimha Rao, Manmohan Singh, and Narendra Modi were a few of them, who have indiscreetly given their support to her initiatives.
Few know that she was keen on going for higher education.
A secular politician, kind to the poor, at the same time, so strong that people were in awe of her. She herself admitted in one of her speeches that, to have a career in politics, especially a woman, one needed to be mentally steel strong.
